Aubameyang: I want to win titles with Dortmund this season

July 27, 2016

Borussia Dortmund's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has poured cold water on speculation linking him to Manchester City and Real Madrid. The Gabonese frontman says he can't wait to link up with Mario Götze and Andre Schürrle.

The Bundesliga runners up have spent heavily already this summer, bringing in eight players, including the two German World Cup winners, at a cost of about 117 million euros.

Despite the loss of first team regulars Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mhkitaryan, Aubameyang, who scored 39 goals last year believes the future is bright at Signal Iduna Park.

"I want to win titles this season with Götze and Schürrle in the team," Aubameyang told German magazine Sports Bild.

"Their transfers are spectacular, they will do us good and our potential is enormous. Our goal must be to win at least one title."

Alongside the two German players, Dortmund have added Marc Bartra from Barcelona, Sebastian Rode from Bayern Munich, Emre Mor from Denmark's Nordsjaelland, Ousmane Dembele from Stade Rennes, Mikel Merino from Osasuna and Raphael Guerrerio from FC Lorient.

"We have signed a lot of young players, but these are all guys with huge talent," said Aubameyang. "The Dortmund way is the right way to win titles," added the striker.

It seems the club is on the same page: "All these rumours have already followed us this summer," Dortmund team manager Michael Zorc told German newspaper Bild.

"We can only repeat, as always, that he has a contract with us until 2020 and feels good at Borussia Dortmund - as it should remain."
