Berlin - Plötzensee Bathing Beach

July 6, 2013

When the sun is shining, Berliners like nothing better than a cooling dip in the water. The German capital has eleven bathing beaches. The one on Plötzensee lake is just four stops on the underground from the city center, in the working-class district of Wedding. Opened as a military bathing beach in 1851, it later became a favorite place for all Berliners to swim.
