The ongoing match-fixing scandal in Germany took a new twist on Monday when disgraced referee Robert Hoyzer, who admitted to rigging four matches for financial gain, indicated the football leagues in Austria and Greece are also involved in the betting scandal. Up until now the manipulation had been confined to Germany. But according to Der Spiegel magazine, Croatian mafia circles in Berlin also had contacts abroad. Austrian team SW Casino Bregenz has been named in the media and club president Hans Grill admitted he was shell-shocked by the talk. "I am shocked and have no idea what the accusations actually are," Grill said. "I want to know what is going on. But first of all proof of manipulation must be forthcoming." A total of 25 people, including three other referees and 14 players, are being looked at for match rigging in what is the biggest scandal in German football for 34 years.
