Bombay is no stranger to terrorist attacks. In 2006, there were near simultaneous attacks on the city's commuter trains. More than two hundred people were killed. The suspicion fell on Muslim terrorists - but despite that there was no expected backlash from the Hindu majority. The people of Bombay - also known as Mumbai .. were determined not to play into the terrorists hands. The city rallied - and made every effort to revert to normalcy as soon as possible. But the scale and manner of this attack is unprecedented. There is a level of sophistication in the targets chosen.. and the the way it was carried out which has left the city stunned.
