Bosch to Expand India Operations

German maker of car parts and electrical household goods Robert Bosch said it will hire 600 software professionals by next year at its Indian software and engineering center in Bangalore, India. Robert Bosch India Ltd, a fully-owned subsidiary, said it will invest 850 million rupees (€14.6 million, or $18.4 million) in a new facility to expand its Indian operations. The new facility will house 1,400 employees of which 600 will be hired from India and the rest will be relocated from overseas sites, it said. The new recruits will work on technologies such as anti-locking systems, Common Rail Diesel Systems and "other innovative technologies" in the field of automotive components. Robert Bosch India, the largest of the Bosch companies outside Germany, employs some 1,800 people.
