Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown will be fighting for his political survival at the Labour Party conference today - just 15 months after taking over from Tony Blair, Brown's popularity has plummeted and polls show Labour trailing the opposition Conservatives by some 20 points. Brown's allies say he is the best person to guide the country through the global financial storm, but 54 percent of Labour Party members polled say they want a new leader. +++SYN-MAZ+++
