July 14, 2016

Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Morocco defender Medhi Benatia is leaving the club after two seasons. He's moving to the Italian champions for a reported 20 million euros.

"Benatia has found a new club, and we wish him lots of luck," Ancelotti said on Friday.

That statement came after the move was confirmed by the Italian club, who said the 29-year-old defender had undergone his medical at Juventus' training ground.

Reports in Italy suggest Juventus will pay Bayern around 20 million euros for securing the services of the Morocco international, but that he will first move on loan.

Benatia signed for Bayern Munich from Roma for a reported 28 million euros in 2014, but had a injury-plagued season last term, taking part in just 14 Bundesliga games and scoring one goal in the process.

Ancelotti added that Bayern were not looking to add another central defender, saying the club already had "four very good defenders with Hummels, Boateng, Martínez and Badstuber."
