Wolfsburg 3-3 Hertha Berlin 

Hertha Berlin got off to the perfect start in Wolfsburg when Vedad Ibisevic gave them the lead after just 20 seconds. In a fast-paced start, Wolfsburg thought they were level just four minutes later but the VAR correctly ruled out Mario Gomez' strike for offside. Gomez had a second bite at the cherry when Per Skjelbred needlessly fouled Daniel Didavi in the box but his spot-kick came back off the bar – his second penalty miss in two weeks. Wolfsburg then had another goal disallowed after Yunus Malli's strike deflected off Daniel Didavi who was in an offside position.

Just when Wolfsburg thought the footballing Gods were against them, two goals in three minutes – a Malli header and a Gomez strike which hit both posts before crossing the line – turned the game around before half time.

More drama was to follow in the second half. Kerem Rekik drew Hertha level with a looping header before Divock Origi restored Wolfsburg's lead on the hour-mark. With just six minutes remaining, Davie Selke equalized again for Hertha to make it seven draws from seven for Wolfsburg coach Martin Schmidt.

Cologne 0 - 3 Hoffenheim

A second half Sandro Wagner braceextended Cologne's record-breakingly poor start to the Bundesliga season. The Germany striker tucked away from the spot shortly after the break to double Hoffenheim's lead after Dennis Geiger's early opener before scuffing in a back post volley to secure the win.

The hosts did create some chances before the third but were largely second best against a Hoffenheim side who broke their own four game winless streak in the Bundesliga. 

RB Leipzig 2-1 Hannover

Newly-promoted Hannover recorded an impressive 4-2 win over Borussia Dortmund last time out and looked on course to claim another big Bundesliga scalp when Ihlas Bebou and Jonathas combined to give them a second-half lead.

But the hosts recovered, Yussuf Poulsen converting Timo Werner's cross to level the scores. With five minutes remaining, provider turned scorer as Werner tapped home Emil Forsberg's volleyed ball in. The win moved Leipzig into second, two points above Dortmund, four behind Bayern.

Borussia Dortmund 1-3 Bayern Munich

Bayern's individual brilliance proved enough to expose Dortmund's poor composure, and the first goal was proof enough of that. Thiago's pass was perfectly controlled by James in the box. The Colombian passed to Arjen Robben, who stepped back and curled home.

Dortmund had chances of their own, but failed to take them and were made to pay when a deflected Robert Lewandowski effort and an untouched cross from David Alaba left the result beyond doubt.

Hamburg 3-1 Stuttgart

Stuttgart endured a disastrous start in Hamburg after BVB-loanee Dzenis Burnic was harshly sent off for a second yellow card after just 13 minutes, the video assistant referee (VAR) unable to intervene as it wasn't a straight red.

Seven minutes later, Hamburg took the lead when ex-Leicester City goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler fumbled Aaron Hunt's free-kick over the line. Daniel Ginczek drew the ten men level from the spot in the second half.

As the second period progressed, the hosts made their numerical advantage count, quick-fire strikes from Filip Kostic and 17-year-old Jann-Fiete Arp ultimately sealing a valuable 3-1 victory, Hamburg's first win since Matchday two.

Gladbach 1-1 Mainz

After last week's impressive 3-1 win away at Hoffenheim, Borussia Mönchengladbach were looking forward to continuing their good form at home to Mainz, but fell behind to an Abdou Diallo header after just 20 minutes.

The Foals found themselves 2-0 down just before half-time but Levin Öztunali's left-footed strike was eventually ruled out by the VAR. The reason: Gladbach defender Matthias Ginter was fouled by Mainz' Suat Serdar in the build-up.

Jannik Vestergaard equalized for Dieter Hecking's side in the second half with his second goal in two games, heading home Thorgan Hazard's corner as the game finished all-square.

Augsburg 1-1 Leverkusen

A bad-tempered first half which saw Ausgburg leading 3-2 on yellow cards ended goalless but fans didn't have to wait long after the re-start. Bayer Leverkusen have had no problem finding the net in recent weeks and took the lead though an impressive Kevin Volland strike.

But the lead only lasted two minutes before Kevin Danso headed Ausgburg level from close range after Bernd Leno had tipped Gregoritsch's header onto the bar.

Freiburg 0-1 Schalke

There were bizarre scenes in the opening minutes when, after a challenge by the touchline, Janik Haberer clattered into Christian Streich, tripping up his own coach who appeared to hurt his shoulder.

Both teams hit the post in a goalless first half - Yevhen Konoplyanka for Schalke and both Nils Petersen and Bartosz Kapustka for Freiburg.

But it was Daniel Caligiuri who gave the Royal Blues the lead shortly after the hour mark with a deflected shot that wrong-footed Alexander Schwolow. Schalke are now unbeaten in five and are up into fourth.

Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Werder Bremen

Just as Werder Bremen looked like picking up a much-needed point in Frankfurt, Sebastien Haller produced a flash of quality in the dying minutes to win the game for the hosts.

Both of Frankfurt's goals were of the highest quality. Ante Rebic opened the scoring with a fine first-time finish that flew past Bremen keeper Jiri Pavlenka and bent inside the post.

Bremen were only behind for seven minutes though as Niklas Moisander scored a scrappy goal from close range after Frankfurt failed to clear a corner.

The game was edging towards a draw before Haller raised the roof with a volley that gave Frankfurt three points and moved them up to fifth ahead of Saturday's games.
