Marieluise Beck is a member of the German parliament and the Greens’ spokeswoman for Eastern European affairs. She spent several weeks in Ukraine during the Maidan revolution gathering information and insights into people’s hopes for the future. The escalation in the Crimea has prompted her return to Kiev.
