Check-in presenter Nicole Frölich takes the opportunity to visit places in the Brandenburg state capital that are closely associated with the division and eventual reunification of Germany. One example is the Glienicke Bridge, also known as the “Bridge of Spies,” where captured agents were often swapped for their counterparts.

Potsdam – the Versailles of the North

During the Cold War, the Berlin Wall separated the palaces and parks of Potsdam from others in Berlin. Now the border has gone.

Cecilienhof -- where history was made

In the summer of 1945 the Potsdam Conference was held at Cecilienhof palace. The United States, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union decided how to administer Germany following its surrender and how to establish a new order in Europe.
