Climate change and poverty

Almost a fourth of the world’s countries are so poor that they no longer qualify as "developing" nations. Instead, the United Nations has come up with its own term: "Least Developed Countries." In these nations, most of the population survive on agriculture or raising livestock. They have been especially hard-hit by the effects of climate change - droughts, floods and other natural disasters. But small, local projects provide hope by offering people both the chance to develop and adapt to climate change.
