Women's Bundesliga team FFC Frankfurt have extended the contract of their English manager Colin Bell by two years, until the end of June 2017. The 53-year-old Bell led the record German champions to their ninth German Cup trophy, a second-placed finish in the league and a return to the Champions League after a two-year absence.

"Colin brought success back to our team and is also doing well with our team this season in all three competitions," said FFC Frankfurt Sporting Director Siegfried Dietrich.

After 15 games (of 22) this season, FFC are third in the table, only five points behind league leaders Wolfsburg. Bell's team is also in the quarterfinals of the Women's Champions League, where they will face Bristol Academy Women's Football Club - who defeated Barcelona Women's team in the previous round.

Bell held a number of previous coaching positions in Germany before signing with FFC Frankfurt in 2013, including head coach at Dynamo Dresden, Koblenz and was a member of the coaching staff at Cologne for three years in 1996. As a player, Bell played for Mainz in Germany's second division and hometown team Leicester City in England's first division.
