Dinner With Einstein
January 20, 2005One in every five Germans would like to have dinner with Albert Einstein. This puts him at the top of a list of eleven important historical figures with whom people would like to dine. That is the result of a survey by the TV broadcaster Discovery Channel. The Nobel Prize winner was particularly popular with school children and teenagers. Senior citizens would prefer to have their supper with former German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. In the overall rankings, Adenauer came in third behind Leonardo da Vinci. To mark the 100th anniversary of Einstein's theory of relativity and his death 50 years ago, Germany is celebrating the Einstein Year. Until the end of 2005, there will be a series of events where the German-born scientist's life and work will be honored.
