Olympic diving ticket blunder
July 26, 2012The organizing committee LOCOG emailed those affected after admitting that the undulated roof design of Aquatics Centre at London's Olympic Park would restrict the view for hundreds of spectators.
"There is a huge public interest in diving," said LOCOG in a statement. "All the seats we have sold have a view of the pool and the divers. A very small number of seats cannot see the whole of each dive, but have a good view of the screens."
"We believe this will still be a great experience in a great atmosphere," LOCOG added.
Diving is one of the most popular spectator sports at the London Olympics. Competitors include home favourite Time Daley and 19-year-old Qiu Bo of China. The 10-meter platform dive is most affected by the view obstruction.
The $42.3 million opening ceremony will begin the games on Friday.
