Dortmund goalfest

In the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund has defeated Kaiserslautern in a 5-0 goalfest. The game was one of six played on Wednesday as part of the traditional Englische Woche (“English Week”) midweek round.
Paraguay international Lucas Barrios scored twice for Dortmund, and Kevin Grosskreutz, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski added one goal apiece.
Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp was satisfied with his team's 12-point result.
"If someone had told me at the start of the season we would have 12 points at this stage in the season, I would have be very pleased," Klopp said, adding, "These wins have come on the back of hard work, but now we have to worry about a tough match against St. Pauli on Saturday."
A busy week
The Englische Woche, or English Week round is played partly out of tradition, but also as a means to compensate for a late start to the season, usually following a major tournament such as the World Cup. All other Bundesliga fixtures are played on weekends.
In other fixtures played Wednesday, Schalke recovered from its four-match losing streak to beat Freiburg 2-1.
Ivan Rakitic gave Schalke the perfect start, notching the team's first goal after nine minutes from 10 meters out when Freiburg goalkeeper Oliver Baumann parried a Huntelaar shot into his path.
Midway through the second half Freiburg's Papiss Demba Cisse took advantage of a hesitant Schalke defense to even the score to 1-1. With just three minutes left on the clock, Huntelaar made the winning shot.
"Our first win brings us a bit of relief," said Schalke Coach Felix Magath. "We were under a lot of pressure to finally get some points on the board. From that point of view, I'm very happy with how the team performed."
Wolfsburg meanwhile beat Hamburg 3-1, while Hamburg's second club, St. Pauli, won away against Borussia Moenchengladbach 2-1.
Nuremberg defeated Stuttgart 2-1 with a goal in injury time, and Bayer Leverkusen overtook Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 through a last-minute penalty.
Wednesday's results means that Dortmund are now second in the league behind Mainz, who beat Cologne on Tuesday.
