A little more than three months into her new job as Germany's head of government, Angela Merkel continues to enjoy extremely high popularity ratings.

After focussing mainly on foreign policy during her first 100 days in office, Germany's first female chancellor has been praised for her performance so far. But some fear that initial worries about a reform stop under a so-called grand coalition of Merkel's Christian Democrats and the country's Social Democratic Party will still prove to be true.
