Douce Steiner's father held two stars at the Restaurant Hirschen in the Black Forest when she took over its kitchen in 2008. The Michelin Guide withdrew one of them a year later. Now she's won it back. In the 2013 edition, she's the only female chef in Germany whose cuisine can boast two Michelin stars.

High Tea

Perched up at an altitude of 3,440 meters, the newly opened Café 3440 on the Pitztal Glacier is now the coolest and highest place in Austria to grab a refreshment. With its panoramic windows, it offers mountain views that are, literally, breathtaking.
