Brewing beer in Germany is steeped in tradition, and men have typically dominated the profession. But women have always been involved in the process. Currently women make up only 6 percent of master beer brewers in Germany, but that number is growing. We meet a couple of them with booming businesses.

Top PC Game

The computer games developer Daedalic took a chance on pursuing adventure games amid dwindling popularity. They were told the trend was over, the genre was dead. But company followed its instincts and can now report success in the growing field of gaming, including having won the Best German PC Game Award for 2013.

Bouroullec Retrospective

The brothers and design duo Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec have been working together for the better half of 15 years. And they've won numerous prizes to show for it. Now after two years of preparation, their designs, including tableware for Alessi and the famous "Quilt" sofa, have gone on display in a retrospective at the Louvre in Paris.
