2013 DW euromaxx highlights

On this week's Euromaxx highlights: We meet German painter Georg Baselitz at the Art Biennale in Venice, take a stroll around the medieval city of Bruges in Belgium and take a look behind the scenes of some of Europes most successful food blogs.

Georg Baselitz at the Venice Art Biennale
Turning art on its head... literally. That's the credo of 77-year-old painter and sculptor Georg Baselitz. He's one of the heavyweights on the international art scene and we met up with him at his show at this year's Art Biennale in Venice.

New Glass Fountain in Versailles
Landscape gardener Louis Benech and glass artist Jean-Michel Othoniel teamed up to build a new water fountain at the Versailles palace gardens. The Murano glass spectacle has been built in commemoration of the 17th century 'Bosquet du Theatre d'Eau' water games which were located in the same place. After four years construction time the fountain is now open to the public.

Take a Tour of Bruges
We're heading to the Flemish city of Bruges in Belgium. The city has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since the year 2000 due to its incredible medieval architecture, and is nickamed Venice of the North for its many canals.

Popular Food Blogs
Food blogs are becoming increasingly popular and ever more professional. 'What's for luch, Honey' written by Indian born Meeta K. Wolff is one of the most successful German examples.

Bonn Jazz Festival
This year’s Jazz Festival in the German city of Bonn features a number of strong female artists. Among them are Danish percussionist Marilyn Mazur and US-American singer Lizz Wright. Two women from two continents who are well established on the international jazz scene. Euromaxx went to take a listen.
