Euromaxx - Highlights of the Week

Coming up on Euromaxx Highlights
Expo in Milan, a visit to Graz in Austria, vertical urban gardens, gourmet vegetarian food, and a very private house near Lisbon.

Highlights of Expo Architecture
145 countries are taking part in the Expo in Milan, and 60 pavillions were specifically built for it. Lots of wood, hanging gardens and open constructions. Architects were faced with the problem of building representative structures on a small area, while keeping the theme of the Expo in mind: sustainabiltiy.

A Tour of Graz
Today's episode takes us to the Austrian city of Graz. It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1999. Author Sigrid Rahm showed us around her home city.

Green Fingers - Garden Designer Patrick Blanc
To mark this week's Chelsea Flower Show, garden artist Patrick Blanc shows us how vertical gardens can liven up urban environments. They can now be seen in many cities the world over.

Paul Ivic - Europe's Best Vegetarian Cook
There are only a few vegetarian restaurants worldwide with a Michelin-star. The "Tian" in Austria's captial Vienna is one of them. And it also has three Gault Millau toques. All thanks to the creative culinary talents of chef Paul Ivic.

Living in a Cube
In Aldeia de Juso, a village southwest of Lisbon, you'll find a very unusual looking house. The facade has no windows. But inside, you'll discover that all the rooms have openings leading to an inside courtyard. The Hernández family likes their privacy!
