New Filipino President Benigno Aquino
As a Filipino, I expect him to change the government's image. He is an economics graduate and therefore he must bolster our country's economy to eradicate poverty at a faster level. His government must invest heavily in infrastructure, education, health and the environment to create a country conducive to businessmen - both foreign and local - to generate much needed jobs. The Philippines is a country with great potential. If we Filipinos join hands, it will be a first world nation in a few years. - Roman Paul Pangan, Philippines
Korean peninsula
If China gave up the North, Kim Jong Il would take desperate action. If China just looks on, North Korea can threaten but will get nothing. The sinking of the Cheonan is unacceptable. - Snowman, Japan
On Thailand
The Reds should have accepted the roadmap because Abhisit's plans provided early elections, if that’s what they were looking for. By accepting it they would have got what they wanted and avoided all the bloodshed. They are now responsible for damaging that beautiful country. - Shawndeewana, US

Maoist insurgency in India
The facts speak for themselves. At present, only 40 percent of India is under government control. There are seven simultaneous wars going on, from Kashmir to Nagaland. In 1971, India was directly involved with the rebellion in East Pakistan and sent troops in illegally. Asian migrant workers in Iraq
In Delhi there is a network of brokers under the patronage of Indian politicians, who in turn get paid by the Americans. The channels are indirect but the brokers are very adept at trafficking people to Iraq. - Rohit, India
