Festivities are taking place across Israel to mark the founding of the state 60 years ago. A military display was staged off the coast of Tel Aviv to celebrate the occasion - with paratrooper drops, air shows and sail-pasts. Many ordinary Israelis -- both young and old -- chose to enjoy the pubic holiday in a more relaxed fashion. But security was high after warnings of terrorist attacks with crossings to the West Bank closed off.
