As governments across Europe pledge trillions of euros to restore confidence in financial institutions, Germany is stepping up moves to finalize ITS bank rescue package worth up to 500 billion euros. The German parliament is being asked to urgently approve the measure. Chancellor Angela Merkel addressed the Bundestag ahead of today's deliberations, saying the danger to financial market stability has not yet been banished.
