Flourishing female start-up in Iran

December 6, 2016

Iranian society is a man's world. So if a woman scores a success with a start-up, it's all the more unusual. That's what Tabassom Latifi did with her online delivery service for home cooking.

Tabassom Latifi calls her start-up MamanPaz. It delivers Iranian meals home-cooked by real mamas. The customers can order them with a click of a mouse over the internet or cell phone. She founded her company in 2014, and now she has some fifty women cooking for MamanPaz around Tehran. They get about 1000 orders per day. Each cook earns the equivalent of up to 1000 euros a month - a good income in Iran.
