In the Philippines, catholic leaders led a sixteen-year battle against a reproductive health bill that would allow the government to distribute contraception for free through public health centers. Earlier this year, the country’s Supreme Court finally passed the bill, marking a significant change for millions of poor Filipinos. They will soon have access to contraceptives free of charge.
