More than one million protest ahead of French senate vote on pension reform
Congratulations to all the people in France, I support their protest against the French government about changing the law changing the retirement age from 65 to 67. People united will never be defeated. -- Morena, El Salvador
The French workers are right to strike. I wish Americans knew that they are the working class, not middle class. Like the Obama administration, Sarkozy's administration is for the rich and the financial elite and the whole range of the not well-to-do are ignored or expected to foot the bill for the extravagant and reckless. -- Joan, US
France could propose to cut the existing pensions by 15 percent. That would take care of it all. -- Josephus, Canada
French gas stations struggle to fill supply as pension vote looms
The leadership of France is right on this occasion pensionable ages should be raised even further than to 62. The unions are holding back a country which was once a great country and which now is on the way down to the standard of the third world. The ultimate solution is to do away with unions. -- John, Belgium
French Senate postpones pension reform vote
Yes, the strikes are justified. Democracy is "the will of the people," not the will of the corporations or the rich. -- Vera, Germany
I don't sympathize with these protesters. They want hold a privilege created by Mitterand, which has proven unfeasible. If the fund for pensions proves deficient, from where will come the money to fill the gap? Perhaps have these people not seen happened in Greece? A little economy like that of Greece needed a huge amount of money to be saved. What will happen if the same occurs in bigger economies? -- Enio, Brazil
Sarkozy's approval rating hits new low as French strikes drag on
Hang in there Nicholas - make the lazy French work. If they strike, sack the lot of them and bring in the army. As a five-time traveler to France, this will be my last holiday here - I would not come again if France was the last place on earth. France has not progressed since Napoleon anyway - no 'men of vision' now. In 10 years Paris will be a dot on the map of Europe. France already is irrelevant on the world stage. -- Edwina, Australia
