While Germany has a severe shortage of skilled craftspeople, there are also a growing number of engineering and science students leaving university without completing their degree. A project in Lower Saxony called "Masterplan Handwerk" seeks to solve these two problems, giving drop-outs an opportunity to learn a skilled trade in just three years.
