A grenade attack on a German camp in Kunduz in northeastern Afghanistan on Wednesday injured four soldiers, two Germans and two Swiss. None of the men were in critical condition, officials from both countries reported. In Berlin, the Bundeswehr has already launched an investigation into the incident with the cooperation of Afghan security officials. The attack came just hours before the German parliament decides on whether to extend the Bundeswehr's Afghanistan mandate. There are currently 269 soldiers based in Kunduz, as part of two provincial reconstruction teams in the country. Germany has a total of 2,250 peacekeepers in the country.
