PENS'

The players are heading to the halfway line and the goalkeepers are going down to the split North Stand. Almost time!

90+4'

Zwayer blows the final whistle. Off to penalties we go ...

90'

Four minutes of additional time to go.

89'

2-2! Rudy's free kick is met by Süle's header which crashes the underside of the bar. It comes back out and chaos ensues. But the ball is bundled over the goal line and (we think) the last touch came off a Dortmund player - even though Kimmich celebrated.

88'

GOAL! Bayern equalize!

83'

Ancelotti takes off Tolisso and hands Renato Sanches some game time.

78'

Dortmund sub: Felix Passlack replaces Zagadou at left-back.

75'

71'

One penalty box to the other in a flash: Ousmane Dembele plays a pin-point through ball for the Gabon international who takes a breath and then chips Sven Ulreich from the right-corner of the penalty box. Dortmund take the lead again in the 72nd minute.

71'

GOAL Borussia Dortmund! Aubameyang!

70'

Superb pass from Rudy sends Lewandowski through on goal, but his cutback is too far ahead of Kinglsey Coman.

66'

Bayern change: Müller off, Coman on

64'

Great pass from Ribery, but dodgy for Tolisso. The French midfielder, who joined from Lyon this summer, should have done miles better in a great position in front of the year Bayern keeper.

62'

If only Castro grew a couple of inches taller ... great cross from Sahin, straight on to his path to work, but the former Leverkusen midfielder nodded wide from close range. He should have scored.

Substitutions for Bayern: Martinez off, Süle on

58'

Dortmund are given a free kick, 30 yards from goal. Tolisso was penalized for a foul on Rode in that area. But Nuri Sahin's attempt at goal from the free kick hits the netting behind the goal.

54'

Rapid counter from Bayern. Müller combines with Ribery who is faced with Piszczek, one against one. He twists and turns, but his shot was well blocked by the Polish defender. Corner kick, although it comes to nothing.

52'

Zagadou shown a yellow card for an elbow on Tolisso.

45'

Dortmund kick off the second half with the scores tied.

HT'

Sebastian Rode will replace Mo Dahoud at the break. No changes for Bayern.

HT'

45+1'

Felix Zwayer blows for the interval. 1-1.

45'

One minute of additional time to play.

43'

Long-range strike from Sebastian Rudy is fumbled by Bürki into the path of Müller, but Bartra nips in and is fouled in the process. Good defending.

41'

Bosz's high line seems to be causing some confusion in Dortmund's rearguard. Sokratis with a timely intervention to stop Kimmich in his tracks. Then a few seconds later, Müller runs into space with no-one near him and freely sends in a cross as the Dortmund centre-backs rush to get back into position.

38'

Dortmund press, but Bayern play the ball through the lines. Rudy drops in intelligently, then lands a 70-yard corker of a pass on to Lewandowski who brings it down with precision. He shares it to Ribery, whose inswinging cross is met by Tolisso at the far post but it ends up off target.

34'

Müller threatens again inside the penalty box. It's Kimmich once again who is providing some outstanding width and depth to Bayern's attack from the right flank. He pushed on behind Zagadou once more, his cross met by Müller's header which hit the outside of the post.

32'

30'

Almost 1-2 at the Westfalen. Ribery slaloms past Piszczek and into the danger zone, Müller gets the shot away under pressure but Bürki makes a fine save, down to his left-hand side.

28'

Neither side has looked adept at dealing with pressure against the ball. The pass completion percentage for both teams is around the 50 percent mark in the first half hour. Dortmund's pressure is fluid, aggressive and man-to-man - an interesting change under the former Ajax coach Peter Bosz who joined this summer.

25'

23'

End-to-end stuff. Dortmund go charging up the pitch with devastating speed. Dahoud's control, awareness and guile sees him dribble into the box. Dembele then picks up the pieces and chips the ball into Castro, but his audacious attempt was comfortably gathered by Ulreich.

21'

An early problem for Borussia Dortmund ...

18'

The champions are back on level terms. Great wing-play from Müller, who took advantage of Zagadou's poor positioning in the left-back area, and drilled the ball across the six-yard box for Lewandowski. Perhaps one of the easiest finishes the Pole will be presented with this season ...

18'

GOAL Bayern Munich! 1-1

17'

First yellow card of the night goes to Sokratis, who upended Ribery around the halfway line. Easy decision for Zwayer to make there,

14'

Roman Bürki makes an important save from Ribery's right-footed shot from the left-corner of the box. But referee Zwayer adjudged the persistent Vidal who followed in to be in an offside position when the shot was initially taken.

12'

Bayern Munich caught napping in the middle, Javi Martinez the culprit. Christian Pulisic takes full advantage, showing great composure to run through and slide the ball past Sven Ulreich.

12'

GOAL Borussia Dortmund!

10'

First chance for the German champions. Thomas Müller plays a long, high ball inside from the left-wing, to Robert Lewandowski who sneaked in behind the more advanced Zagadou. But the Polish striker completely smacked the shot and unsurprisingly went over the crossbar.

8'

Ousmane Dembele grabs the headlines at the best of times, but now that Neymar's record deal to Paris Saint-Germain is done-and-dusted, the French winger is being courted by Barcelona, according to many reports. Before kick off, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said Dortmund wouldn't consider 'just' the offer, but his potential value as a result of his development at the club. With World Cup 2018 around the corner, Dortmund will be hopeful that the youngster will stick around.

6'

2'

Mo Dahoud rushing to get involved in the action and moves up to support Aubameyang. Nuri Sahin collects the ball circa 30 yards from goal but his weak left-foot shot spins off a Bayern player and out for a corner kick. Referee Felix Zwayer blows for a free-kick from the resulting set piece.

We're underway!

20:29:

20:27: Out come the teams at the Westfalenstadion. The winner of this Super Cup edition will be the tournament's outright most successful club.

Borussia Dortmund: Bürki; Zagadou, Bartra, Sokratis, Piszczek; Sahin, Dahoud, Castro; Pulisic, Dembele, Aubameyang

Dortmund substitutes: Weidenfeller, Subotic, Isak, Rode, Philipp, Passlack, Toprak

Bayern Munich: Ulreich; Kimmich, Hummels, Martinez, Rafinha; Vidal, Rudy, Tolisso; Müller, Lewandowski, Ribery

Bayern substitutes: Früchtl, Süle, Coman, Tillman, Friedl, Sanches, Pantovic

20:15: Bayern are without Neuer, Boateng, Thiago and Robben, among others, but will be expected to deliver a performance after being booed off the pitch following a winless Audi Cup last week. Bayern's pre season has been unconvincing, with defeats to Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Liverpool.

19:40: After an intensive pre-season to get up to speed, Mario Götze is left out of the squad due to some discomfort with back problems. It doesn't sound too serious for the World Cup winner, which is refreshing after his rehabilitation from a metabolic disorder in the first half of the year. Get well soon, Mario!

19:30: An hour until kick off at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund for Germany's prelude to the return of competitive action next week in the DFB Pokal. The Bundesliga season returns a week after that with Bayern hosting Leverkusen and Dortmund taking on Wolfsburg.

15:35: Both squads are rife with injuries. Dortmund will be without Marco Reus, Marcel Schmeltzer, Raphael Guerreiro, Julian Weigl, Emre Mor, Erik Durm and Andre Schürrle, whereas Bayern's Arjen Robben, Jerome Boateng, Manuel Neuer, David Alaba, Thiago, James Rodriguez and Juan Bernat will all miss the game due to injuries.

15:25: Welcome to the DW Sports live coverage of the Super Cup clash between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich! Stay tuned as we'll keep you posted with all the updates from the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund. Kickoff is at 20:30.
