Germany Bans Turkish Publishers

A Turkish language publishing house has been banned in Germany under legislation aimed at stamping out incitement to violence, Interior Minister Otto Schily said on Friday. The Yeni Akit publishers produce the European version of the "Anadoluda Vakit" newspaper, which has contained a number of articles hostile to Israel, Jews and Western countries, Schily said. "The incitement to hate is systematic," he added. "I will not tolerate this under any circumstances." German authorities have frozen the newspaper's assets. Two Egyptian imams were banned from Germany earlier this month under the same legislation. (AFP)
