Germany: Yoga boom

Fernöstliche Sportarten ziehen immer mehr Menschen in den Bann. Der aus Indien stammende Yoga hatte lange ein esoterisches Image. Heute liegt Yoga ganz im Trend.

Many yoga instructors focus on the integrated or holistic approach to the practice - helping to relieve stress or even back complaints with the use of positions like "Sun Salutation” and "Cobra". There are now around five million people practising Yoga in Germany alone - from the original spiritual variety to the sweat-inducing "Bikram”. And their numbers are rising.
