Germany's parliament debates the government's new strategy for Afghanistan

The German parliament is set to debate the government's new strategy for Afghanistan. The cabinet has approved sending in 850 additional soldiers to the country - bringing the total number of German troops there to more than 5 thousand three hundred. But their deployment has to be approved by parliament. Foreign minister Guido Westerwelle has been outlining their proposed mission in the Bundestag.
