General Manager, Menschen für Menschen (People for People) Foundation, Munich, Germany
“We cannot close our eyes to the distress happening on our neighboring continent Africa.” This conviction has troubled Axel Haasis since he was a teenager, after watching a TV documentary on a devastating famine in the Sahel Zone. At about the same time, he accidentally crossed paths with Karlheinz Böhm, founder of the Menschen für Menschen (People for People) Foundation. Today, after jointly working for common goals for the past 25 years, Axel Haasis is the General Manager of the foundation.
