Heiko Rahnenführer, Chief Cameraman

He was also part of the production team on award-winning projects such as “The Beethoven Project” (2010), “Der Klang der Hoffnung - The Promise of Music” (2008) and “Filmstar Karajan” (2008). Heiko Rahnenführer has worked in a variety of genres – from advertising to horror films (including “Virus Undead” 2008). In his camerawork he likes to combine classic, forgotten methods with modern digital processes.

Heiko Rahnenführer was born in 1965 in Wismar and finished an apprenticeship as an electronics engineer in 1983 in Berlin. Following his military service and university studies, he worked in the electronics industry. In 1990 he moved into film and started to learn the basics of the industry. He worked in Berlin as a driver for film productions, then as a lighting specialist. He also completed his studies at one of the city’s leading film schools at that time, the Staatliche Fachschule für Optik und Fototechnik. From 1995 to 1999 he worked as a camera assistant and senior lighting specialist and also became active as a cameraman during this time. He currently lives with his family in Berlin.
