# In France, a blockade by strikers of oil refineries has led some 15-hundred gas stations to shut down, as nationwide walkouts move from the energy sector to transportation over government plans to raise the retirement age to 62. Oil company Exxon Mobil has described the situation as "critical" with the country now tapping into its emergency reserves. President Nicolas Sarkozy has called a crisis cabinet meeting in response.
