How British stars reacted to Brexit

Proponents and opponents were all stunned by the outcome of the UK's referendum on Brexit. From Elizabeth Hurley to J.K. Rowling, here are some of the most popular reactions on Twitter in Britain's cultural world.

British celebrities started reacting to the results on social media either late into the night - or very early this morning.

Actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, publically promoting the Leave option, wrote she couldn't turn TV off all night:

Another strong Brexit proponent, "Daily Mail" columnist and TV host Kathie Hopkins, tweeted her excitement throughout the day, signing a column called: "Pinch me, I must be dreaming."

Meanwhile, Brexit opponents expressed their disappointment. With a picture modifying the poster of the Vote Leave campaign to "Vote Love," Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling has been commenting and retweeting the voices of the remainers:

In another popular tweet, dancer James Corden sent his thoughts out to the younger generation, as a majority voted to remain in the EU.

The young actor Oliver Phelps, who starred in the Harry Potter films, was certainly among the disappointed youth, hoping it was all a bad dream:
