In the early years of its existence in the 1950s, the public had its misgivings about the Bundeswehr. The Second World War was still fresh in many people's minds. But in the 1990s, public perceptions began to change. Today the Bundeswehr is facing a series of major reforms. But as far as its reputation is concerned, it seems it has little to worry about.
