They are fed-up with criminal activities in Brikama Daruhairu and decided to take the law into their own hands. Young people formed a militia to watch suspicious activities. They patrol the streets from 2am to 6am, seven days per week. The idea came up following a rise in criminal activities in the area. Since they started it, crime rate has dropped in the area. They have the support from the community
The Gambian police have also given their blessing, but some see that as a failure of the public security system.
