Coming Home - Colombia

https://p.dw.com/p/RWje
"Colombia is beautiful - fascinating - my homeland! But I want to live in Germany", says Jaqueline Rojas, a dentist who has settled in Berlin. Germany is peaceful and free, she says, whereas Colombia is dangerous, poor and unstable. Only a few weeks earlier, one of her cousins was shot and killed there. Even so, the South American turned European goes back every year and meets some of the people she left behind. On this trip, she stops by her birthplace, Bucaramanga, goes to Bogota and travels through typically Colombian high mountains and deep valleys. She’s following in the footprints of her South American ancestors - but with a very European eye.
