Leipzig may have lost its bid to host the 2012 Olympics, but that's not stopping the city from sending its world-famous Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra to Athens. The musicians will play works by Johannes Brahms in the Greek capital's Herodes Atticus amphitheater on Aug. 23. Greek media have already described the concert as "one of the hightlights" of this year's Athens Festival, which is taking place at the same time as the Olympics, which start on Aug. 13. The concert will be attended by 5,000 people, including the German coach of Greece's national soccer team, Otto Rehhagel, who led his players to victory during the European Championships in July.
