Saving the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is drying out at an alarming rate but a joint project by Jordan and Israel offers some hope. The plan is to direct water from Jordan’s Red Sea into the Dead Sea via a 180-kilometer long pipeline. But environmentalists fear it could destabilize the lake’s unique chemistry.
