Good on 'Gladbach

In a survey conducted by the German sports magazine Kicker, Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach received top marks from players across the league.

In the annual survey of Bundesliga players conducted annually by the sports magazine Kicker, fourth-place Borussia Mönchengladbach swept the top honors.

From the 245 votes cast by the players, Gladbach midfielder Marco Reus was voted the best field player of the league, winning 24.5 percent of the vote. He beat out Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa (17.1 percent), Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery (14.7) and Robert Lewandowski (12.6), also from Dortmund.

In the keeper category, Reus's teammate Marc-Andre ter Stegen narrowly beat out Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer as the best man between the posts. Ter Stegen won 27.4 percent of the vote, while Neuer polled 26.6.

Gladbach's coach, Lucien Favre, also won the praise of the Bundesliga players, earning 32.4 percent of the vote. Freiburg's Christian Streich was close behind in second with 31.1 percent, but Jürgen Klopp - head coach of back-to-back league champ and cup winners Borussia Dortmund - was a distant third, finishing with 18 percent.

Favre led Gladbach in a remarkable turnaround season that saw them enter the Champions League playoffs after fighting relegation in the 2010/11 season.
