The G-D-L train drivers union has escalated its strike wave, with negotiations having ground to a halt. It wants the same pay and conditions for drivers working for smaller companies.. and staff at the main rail operator Deutsche Bahn. It's the first time the union's targetting both freight AND commuters in this drawn-out labour dispute.
