More than 4,400 Iraqis living in Germany have registered to vote in elections to be held in the war-torn country on January 30, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). There are around 80,000 Iraqi nationals living in Germany and they have until Sunday, January 23 to register in order to cast their votes in Iraq's first free elections. Registration centers in Germany are located in the cities of Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Mannheim and those who have registered at one of them can cast their votes from January 28 to January 30. Worldwide, some 150 voting stations in 14 countries have been set up for Iraqis. The IOM estimates there are some 1.2 million Iraqis eligible to vote living abroad.
