Richard Zuidgeest from Amsterdam is on a four-day excursion in Berlin, together with a group of young Dutch students. Because no true Dutch person would be without a bicycle, he gets on a bike to tour Berlin as well. His tour starts in the trendy district of Prenzlauer Berg. After stopping off at the legendary Arthouse Tacheles, an urban artists’ collective situated in an old crumbling department store, he continues through the government district and down the famous boulevard Unter den Linden. He also stops at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and takes a critical look at the architecture of the Reichstag, seat of the German parliament. The last stop on Richard Zuidgeest’s tour is the East Side Gallery, where a remaining section of the Berlin Wall was painted by renowned artists.
