Marketers have long developed strategies to make a brand or product stick in people's mind, and lead them to buy it. Now scientists are beginning to understand why faces are prominent features in such advertising. As a part of a study at the Life and Brain Research Centre in Bonn, specialists monitored people's brain patterns as they observed various faces. They found that - in contrast to company logos - faces activated areas of the brain having to do with emotions and memory.
