Almost 15 years after German unification, one in four western Germans wishes the Wall was still standing, a poll has shown. The survey, carried out by Berlin's Freie Universität and Forsa polling institute, showed that 24 percent of western Germans would rather have their country divided into separate East and West German states. Only 12 percent of eastern Germans said it would be better if the country was still divided. Only 11 percent of respondents in western Berlin wanted the Wall back, and 8 percent of those in the eastern part of the city did.
