Oleg Bryjak and Maria Radner were on their way back from Spain on the Germanwings plane that crashed in the Alps.

Radner had sung Erda, and Bryjak was Alberich in Richard Wagner's "Siegfried" at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. The opera house held two minutes of silence at noon on Wednesday (25.03.2015) in homage to the singers.

Maria Radner was born in 1981 in Düsseldorf and Oleg Bryjak in 1960 in Kazakhstan. He moved to Germany in 1991.

Bryjak had been a soloist with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf since 1996. "We have lost a great performer and a great person in Oleg Bryjak. We are stunned," the Director Christoph Meyer told AP.

Radner was travelling with her husband and baby, one of the two infants on the plane. Altogether, 150 people died in the accident.
