Painting in 3D with Virtual Reality

Artists throughout the world are discovering virtual reality. Observers can immerse themselves in new 3D paintings created with the help of controllers and VR headsets.

German illustrator Christoph Niemann likes experimenting with the possibilities of digital technology. Equipped with a VR headset and controller, he draws 3D images in virtual reality. For New Yorker magazine he  designed an augmented reality cover. If you look at the magazine through your tablet or smartphone with the “uncovr” app, the drawings come alive.
