Mayor of Tuebingen, Germany
Boris Palmer has been the mayor of Tübingen, a university town in southern Germany, since 2007. Now aged 40, he was a member of the state assembly of Baden-Württemberg from 2001 - 2007. Among his roles he was also vice-chair of his party's legislative assembly group. Palmer studied mathematics and history. Ecology has always been a mainstay of his political actions. Since taking office in Tübingen, he has made climate protection a focus of city policy.
